Katja Mitz was born on September 1989 in Saint Petersburg, Russia. Her musical education started at the age of 5 by visiting music classes for children. At that time she sang folk russian music, learned how to play the piano. Katja visited the Musical School №18 in Saint Petersburg, where she was taught piano. She had good skills in music theory, singing. She enjoyed impovisation, making melodies. She listened a lot to classical music.
She went to the "Petrishule" School № 222, where she learned German and English. Katja visited many different classes besides school, such as painting, dancing or gymnastics.
After finishing school she decided to continue her study of music. She entered Music Collede Rismki Korsakov, Choir Conduncting Faculty. With the female choir of the College she had a lot of performances in different musichalls.
She had a practice as a choir conductor and a teacher of music for children.
In 2008 Katja entered the State University of Saint Petersburg, where she studied German Philology and graduated with a Bachelor degree.
From 2012 to 2018 Katja studied „music and media“ on the Robert Schumann Music University in Düsseldorf, Germany and had courses in media compositon and audio-video production. She also has an interest in photography and created photosessions with different people.
From 2014 to 2016 Katja worked at the TV-Program 'Volle Kanne', ZDF and once had a live performance with James Last. With Vitaly Kohmann she presented live the project "Space harp".
In 2016 Katja started to work with the director of the Sergei Obraztsov Central Academic Puppet Theatre Boris Konstantinov. In collaboration with him and the puppet theatre designer Victor Antonov Katja created music to the Theatre Spectacle Turandot.
The premiere was shown in 2018 at the Sergei Obraztsov Central Academic Puppet Theatre in Moscow.
